I love a dark lip. I don’t wear much eye make up besides the mandatory mascara, so bold lip colors are something I’ll always go for when going out.
I have written about Mac’s Diva and Mac’s Ruby Woo shortly after purchasing them and long before I knew what an important part of my make up collection these two would become. So I decided to devote two separate posts to these two amazing shades that I consider everyone should have in their collection because of their uniqueness.
Even though I wanted to own and wear a dark red shade, I never imagined it could look good with my dark hair and almost black eyes. I find that dark red lips look fabulous on girls with light-colored eyes and hair, but make most girls with dark-colored eyes and hair look goth. Luckily, Diva is a deep, wine red shade, yet not dark enough to label you as goth. I love its color regardless of the texture which I sometimes struggle with. Dark colors are very hard to apply evenly without a good lip pencil, so I’m currently thinking about buying Mac’s Burgundy lip pencil to hold the lipstick in place all day or night and to keep it from looking patchy. Being used to and a fan of Ruby Woo’s extremely dry and matte texture, I’d be the happiest girl if all lipsticks came in that texture. Maybe I’m the only one as I’ve seen most girls complain about Ruby Woo’s dryness. You need a good lip brush and maximum precision to apply Diva perfectly, or a lot of touching up afterwards.
I am currently sitting in my bed writing this post while huge snowflakes are gently dancing outside. I am not prepared to tackle the huge workload that is waiting for me on my desk. How are you spending your days?
