Though my nails still haven’t reached their representable length, I decided to feature this surprise buy. I decided to get the shade Serial Shopper before going online and examining the thousands of swatches and reading through the reviews about the formula. Turns out, I bought a semi matte nail polish that is very jellylike and thick when applying. I am a fan of this formula. It’s somewhat sheer, so I ended up with 5 coats on my nails. A layer of base nail polish, 3 coats of Serial Shopper even though 2 were already fine, and another layer of top coat to turn this semi matte shade into a glossy one. The result looks like this.
I was quite surprised to read that this shade originally came out with the 2014 Neon collection and a few other bloggers agreed with me on the opinion that this isn’t a very piercing color. It’s somewhere between an orange and a coral, and I quite like the color, I can imagine it looking great on tan skin in the summer.
Those 5 coats I numbered before were a nightmare to take off. I don’t know if it’s due to the new base coat that I’m trying out (first base coat ever) or the nail polish formula itself or rather the amazing top coat that was one of my 2014 favorites. It must be the combination of all things mentioned. This surprise buy turned out to be quite the pleasant surprise, one I’ll definitely wear often during summer.
The book I am currently reading is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Before jumping into the world of LOTR, I will be devoting some time to these four ladies. Little Women was love at first sight. The cover was absolutely beautiful and creative, I had to buy the book immediately, having remembered it being Rachel’s favorite on Friends. I think I’ll keep it on the shelf by my bed even after I finish reading it. :)
