Unfortunately for some of you, I don’t see this obsessieon subsiding anytime soon.
What is there not to love about Essie’s nail polishes? Their formula is fantastic – easy to apply, durable, chip resistant. Most of all, I love the pastels. For the first time, I am able to achieve an opaque pastel color after just 2 coats. With certain other brands, it took 3 really thick coats and an hour of drying to get the same color that you see in the bottle.
Essie’s Find Me An Oasis is a beautiful pastel baby blue color, or at least in Europe it is. For some reason, there are enormous color differences between US and Europe versions of certain nail polish colors. You are welcome to google this, it’s quite astonishing. One of my dearest friends, Ines, also a fellow “beauty blogger”, ordered Find Me An Oasis through ebay after we met in Zagreb one day. She fell in love with it as fast as I did when I saw it at the store. A few weeks later, Ines ended up receiving the US shade, which is a lot less pastel than the EU one. The EU version has hints of lilac, which is responsible for the amazing softness. Nevertheless, we agreed that both shades are quite lovely, and we both share this tiny obsessieon, for which I am to blame.
To bore you a little less, I grabbed the sparkly silver polish by Catrice. The color called 01 It’s Showtime is part of their Luxury Lacquers line. As a result, I am wearing stripes on two of my nails – for the first time in my life. :) I was never a huge fan of nail art, or rather afraid not to cross the border of kitschiness. For now, I’ll stick to these small, tasteful interventions.
