I have never truly celebrated Valentine’s day, as I feel it easily goes over the top. Nevertheless, I decided for a typical red Valentine’s day nail polish, but I gave it a twist.
Essie’s Dress To Kilt is a stunning muted red, a perfect go-to color if you’re not in the mood for a loud, vibrant red. The application was smooth, and the coverage is impecable. Since the coverage doesn’t change with the second coat of polish, this could easily be worn after a single coat.
My dear and I don’t have anything special planned for today, I think this might just turn into one of those lazy weekends where we barely get out of bed and simply spend our hours on movie-watching. And even though it’s Valentine’s day, a new addition to my workspace aren’t red roses but tulips. I absolutely love tulips, they are my all time favorite flower. Especially the white and the red ones.
On to the polish. On my ring finger I applied Essie’s Urban Jungle, an off white I wrote about just a few days ago, and then used a tooth pick to carefully draw a tiny heart. A heart for Valentine’s Day – how very original! Doing the same thing on the right hand was incredibly tricky, I must admit. In the end, I’m quite satisfied with how it turned out. :)
